It looks as though Cardiff City can finally move on from the controversy surrounding their postponed game with Derby County last Sunday, with the EFL releasing a statement yesterday confirming they are satisfied with the circumstances surrounding the decision.

There had been calls for the Rams to be docked points on the back of the developments, but the league has now absolved them of any wrongdoing.

Cardiff have since responded, with owner Vincent Tan pledging to personally reimburse fans who travelled to Pride Park on official supporters' coaches - a gesture that is likely to be warmly welcomed by many Bluebirds fans.

Meanwhile, a couple of Bluebirds are in international action, most notably Aron Gunnarsson, who was part of the Iceland squad that took on Mexico in San Francisco in the early hours of the morning, while Callum Paterson could well be in line for appearance with Scotland, who take on Costa Rica later tonight.

You can recap all the latest news from the Cardiff City Stadium with our blog below.

Healey big boost for Torquay

Now some news about how a Cardiff City loanee is faring on his travels - and it’s good news.

Torquay United head coach Gary Owers says that new loan striker Rhys Healey has already given the Gulls’ relegation-haunted squad a boost after only a few days’ training and ten minutes of action as a substitute.

Here is what Owers told DevonLive.

We had done most of our prep work last week, and Rhys had one light session with us on the Friday. Off the back of the result at Leyton Orient (1-0 to Torquay), I wanted to give those lads another chance. Rhys gets on the pitch for a short period, and everyone can see what a good player he is. I’ve watched him in games several times in the past, but I have certainly seen that first-hand over the last couple of days.

He’s a really nice lad, very into his work and you can see his quality.

Tan to reimburse Cardiff fans

Just a reminder of this story that broke yesterday evening - Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan will personally reimburse Bluebirds fans left out of pocket by the Derby snow fiasco.

City chief executive Ken Choo had demanded Derby reimburse Cardiff’s 2,600 away supporters their travel and ticket costs following the postponement fiasco.

However, after the Football League announced they were not sanctioning Derby despite the furore, the East Midlands club then said they wouldn’t agree to Cardiff’s request to help the travelling fans.

Choo discussed the matter with Tan who said he will dip into his own pocket to ensure Bluebirds supporters who went with officially organised supporter coach travel do get their money back.

Forest keen on Tomlin deal

First bit of news for the day and it concerns Lee Tomlin.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Nottingham Forest are keen on a permanent deal for the Cardiff City playmaker, who is currently on loan at the City Ground.

Tomlin has chipped in with three goals and two assists in his eight games for Aitor Karanka’s side and it seems that Forest want to turn the loan into a longer-term deal with his Cardiff future looking far from bright.
