Chincholi MLA Umesh Jadav injured in accident, recovering in Kalaburagi hospital

Chincholi MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Health and Family welfare department Dr Umesh Jadhav was injured in an accident that occurred near Polakapalli in Chincholi taluk on Wednesday morning at around 11.30 am.

Jadhav along with a few party workers was on his way to Kothlapur village, near Telangana border, in the taluk.

Jadhav was travelling in a Bolero while Congress ST unit president Janardhan Yampalli was following Jadhav's vehicle in another Xylo.

The Xylo driver tried to overtake the Bolero near Polakapalli.

However, an ox came in front of the vehicle all of a sudden and the Xylo driver after hitting the ox, rammed into the Bolero in which Jadhav was travelling.

The Xylo toppled.  The Bolero driver immediately braked to avoid further damage.

However, Jadhav who was sitting in the front seat, hit the windscreen shattering it. He was severely injured in head, hand and waist and also suffered internal injuries.

It can be recalled that Jadhav was severely injured in a rail accident two decades ago.

Yampalli, who was in the Xylo, was severely injured in hand, leg, head.  

Both of them were administered first aid in Chincholi government hospital and later shifted to Tipu Sultan hospital in Kalaburagi.

CPI Chincholi H M Ingaleshwar visited the spot. A case has been registered by Chincholi police station.
