CUTTACK: IN a broad daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants attacked the staff of a private construction company with a knife and looted Rs 27 lakh from him outside Jagatpur branch of Allahabad Bank on Saturday. The victim, Nalini Tripathy (38), an employee of Shri Durga Construction Company has filed an FIR at Jagatpur police station.
According to the FIR, Tripathy had withdrawn Rs 9 lakh from SBI, another Rs 9 lakh from HDFC Bank, and Rs 9 lakh more from Allahabad Bank at Jagatpur for making payments to the staff. While he was coming down the staircase of Allahabad Bank, carrying the cash in a bag at about 3 pm, two unidentified miscreants intercepted and attacked him with a knife. They snatched the money bag and fled with the cash. On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation. The CCTV footage of the bank is being examined to identify the miscreants, informed ACP Trinath Mishra.
