The Hamirpur parliamentary constituency will soon be known as an educational hub after the setting up of Centre University in Dehra, IIT in Una and AIIMS in Bilaspur.

This was stated by MP from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur on Saturday while addressing students of Sidharth Government Degree College, Nadaun, on the occasion of the annual prize distribution function. He said a number of development projects had been initiated in the constituency in the past 10 years. These included the expansion of railway lines, the PGI satellite centre at Una and a medical college at Jolsapar.

He exhorted the students to fix a target and then make all efforts to achieve it. He said the students should keep themselves updated on latest developments.

He said educational tours to other states were being organised for the students of classes X and XII.

BJP state vice-president Vijay Agnihotri highlighted the value of discipline in a student’s life. Earlier, Anurag Thakur felicitated students for excelling in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. — OC
