Bihar: Rs 16 lakh looted from two petrol pumps within 20 minutes in Madhubani
PATNA: Unidentified armed criminals looted at least Rs 16 lakh from two different petrol pumps within 20 minutes located hardly a kilometre apart on Jhanjharpur-Madhepur main road under Madhepur police station area under Madhubani district on Saturday evening.
Madhepur police station SHO Amit Kumar said that a group of six bike-borne criminals were involved in both the loot incidents.

The SHO said that first incident took place Mithilanchal fuel centre located near Laxmipur village at around 3.52pm.
“Six armed criminal, three each on one bike, entered the pump premises and opened fire at least four rounds to terrorize the employees. From there, at least Rs 12 lakh was looted,” he said.
He said the pump manager Mohammad Wajid Haq submitted a written complaint with the Madhepur police station in which he said that the criminals had looted Rs 12 lakh from kept in the cash counter.
“Police have CCTV footage of the incident in which the timing was show 3.52pm when the criminals attacked the pump,” the SHO said.
The SHO said that the same criminal gang moved ahead and looted Nisha fuel centre and looted Rs 4 lakh from the cash counter of the pump.

“The second pump is located near Pachihi village and is barely a kilometre ahead of the Mithilanchal fuel centre located on the same road which further enters Supaul district,” he said.
SHO Kumar said that the second loot took place between 4pm to 4.15 pm. He said Rs 4 lakh was looted from the second pump and its manager Aditya Kumar Yadav submitted a written complaint with police in connection with the incident.
“At least three rounds were fired by criminal during the loot at second pump,” he said adding some empty cartridges of 9mm were recovered from both pump premises.
He said that the criminal gang, after looting both pumps, fled towards border of Supaul district.
“For both the incidents, one FIR was lodged with the Madhepur police station on basis of the two written complaint received by police,” he added.
