Child, grandfather hospitalised after leopard attack in UP's Bahraich

A five-year-old boy and his grandfather were hospitalised with injuries after they were attacked by a leopard at their home in a village here, forest officials said on Sunday.

BAHRAICH: A five-year-old boy and his grandfather were hospitalised with injuries after they were attacked by a leopard at their home in a village here, forest officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday night at Chahalwa village in the vicinity of Katarniyaghat wildlife sanctuary, they said.
The child, Kamalnayan, and his grandfather, Kunjilal, were asleep in the courtyard of their house when the leopard attacked them, according to the officials.

"The boy was attacked by the leopard while he was fast asleep. In a bid to save the life of the child, his grandfather took on the leopard and suffered serious injuries," divisional forest officer G P Singh said.
Singh said that both the persons were currently undergoing treatment at a nearby community health centre.
