Kannauj: 3 killed, 6 injured in Agra-Lucknow e-way accident

Three persons - including the manager of KK Degree College, Etawah - were killed and six others were severely injured as the vehicles they were travelling in collided with each other in Tirwa area in Kannauj district on Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Wednesday.

The police reached the spot and made arrangements to send the victims to nearest hospital.
KANPUR: Three persons, including the manager of a college in UP's Etawah, were killed and six others grievously injured as the vehicles they were travelling in collided with each other in Tirwa area in Kannauj district on Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Wednesday.
The accident took place near Faguha Bhatta area under the limits of Tirwa Kotwali police station of the district on Wednesday morning.

The victims were identified as Lakshmipati Verma, manager of KK Degree College, Etawah - the alma mater of SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, Congress party leader Dharamraj Verma, both natives of Etawah, and Hari Mohan Aagrwal, a resident of Indira Nagar, Lucknow. Sources said that Verma was a close friend of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
While the trio died at the spot, the injured - identified as Ankur, Aditya, Seema, Mohit, Sakshi and Anil, driver of one of the vehicles - have been admitted to a hospital in Kanpur.
Station house officer of Tirwa police station said, "The victims were travelling in three separate vehicles. Locals said that the mishap occurred when the driver of one of the vehicles tried to enter the expressway through an approach road and probably could not spot the other two vehicles moving with a great speed leading to the massive collision. The three cars turned turtle were badly mangled."
According to local sources, the police reached the spot and made arrangements to send the victims to nearest hospital.
