SPS Jaggi to be Shipping Corp Director Personnel

New Delhi, Apr 20 () Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) today said the government has nominated Surinder Pal Singh Jaggi as its Director Personnel and Administration.
"As per order ... received from Ministry of Shipping, Surinder Pal Singh Jaggi has been nominated to be appointed on the board of SCI as Director (Personnel and Administration) for a period of five years with effect from date of his assumption of the charge of post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest," SCI said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.
The process of his appointment on the board of SCI is in progress, the largest domestic shipliner said.
The SCI owns and operates around one-third of the Indian tonnage, and has operating interests in practically all areas of the shipping business servicing, both national and international trades.

Indian e-commerce conglomerate Infibeam said it has secured a contract from National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for providing online marketplace for skilling resources.
"The online marketplace will facilitate the availability of skilling resources from different providers to skill seekers and training providers thereby bringing demand and supply side of skill resources on the same platform," Infibeam said in a statement.
The digital platform will be developed and managed by Infibeam.
The implementation of digital platform will enable NSDC to offer benefits like improved accessibility to skilling resources, thereby helping training providers. It will also improve cost efficiency and quality.
