armakers participating in the Indonesia International Motor Show 2018 (IIMS) have introduced their new products, including limited edition cars, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIexpo), Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

At the event, which was attended by thousands, Japanese brand Mitsubishi introduced its limited edition Pajero Sport SUV, the Pajero Sport Rockford Fosgate.

Mitsubishi only produced 1,000 units of the limited Pajero Sport, said Kyoya Kondo, president director of Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales (MMKSI), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motor Corporation in Indonesia. The cars were sold for Rp 535 million (US$38,467), he added.

During the expo, MMKSI set a target to sell 2,000 Xpander vehicles, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that is expected to comprise 50 percent of its total sales.

Meanwhile, another Japanese carmaker, Honda, also introduced a special edition car in the Honda Mobilio, an MPV priced at Rp 228.9 million.

Honda said the Mobilio special edition had an improved exterior design compared to its previous Mobilio.

“Mobilio is one of our backbones as it contributed to significant sales. We always try to keep it in the low-cost MPV segment with a fresh look,” said Jonfis Fandy, marketing and sales service director of Honda Prospect Motor (HPM).

With 35,430 units sold, Mobilio ranked third among Honda’s most-sold cars in 2017, he added. (bbn)
