Four arrested in Jehanabad girl's molestation case

A special investigation team formed by Patna Zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan, have arrested four youths from Bharthua village under Kako police station area in Jehanbad district on Monday for disrobing and molesting a minor girl.

PATNA: A special investigation team, formed by Patna Zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan, has arrested four youths from Bharthua village under Kako police station area in Jehanbad district on Monday for disrobing and molesting a minor girl .
The accused have been named as Amar Kumar (18), son of Jagdu Yadav, Deepak Kumar (18), son of Dinesh Yadav, Sunil Kumar (18), son of Kapil Yadav and a 14-year-old minor. The incident came to light when a shocking video showing a group of eight youths molesting a girl in broad daylight, while she was pleading for mercy, came into fore.
The video went viral on social media late on Saturday night.
The video footage helped the police learn about the assailants as well as the location of the crime scene. IG Hasnain claimed that the police team arrested four including a minor from Bharthua village in Jehanabad 24 hours after the video went viral. He also assured that the cybercrime cell has removed the video from the social networking site.
“The police team tracked down the location from the motorbike seen on the viral video. On the basis of the number plate, the district transport officer trace the location of the owner of the bike. However, the owner of the bike is yet to be arrested,” said the IG. The police also recovered the mobile phone which was used to make the video, from the arrested youth Amar Kumar.
