Moupriya Mitra's residence in West Bengal
India's national level swimmer Moupriya Mitra allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Hooghly on Monday. The 16-year-old swimmer was a tenth-grade student of the Girls High School in West Bengal.
Police recovered Moupriya's hanging body from her residence and sent it to Chinsura Imambara Hospital for an autopsy. No suicide note has been found from the athlete's residence.
According to local reports, Moupriya went to Chinsura Swimming Club along with her father Baba Bhasker Mitra on Monday morning.
Moupriya father said that her daughter was sentimental and it's hard for them to understand how it happened.
