Nepali-origin woman mauled to death by bear in Rampur

Shimla, May 4

A woman was mauled to death and her husband was seriously injured by a bear in Rampur area of Shimla district on Friday morning, the police said.

The incident occurred when the couple were returning home after collecting wood from forest, they said.

The woman, Jai Kumari (21), and her husband, Harkoo (24), are of Nepali origin. The woman died on the spot, the police said. PTI
