Dubai - The Dubai student scored 100 in four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science), and 97 in English.

Seventeen- year-old, Aakanksha Rai from GEMS Modern Academy, topped the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations in UAE, scoring the second highest marks globally with a cumulative score of 99.4 percent.
The Dubai student scored 100 in four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science), and 97 in English. ISC is the equivalent of Grade 12 exams, and Aakanksha was a science stream student.
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) declared the Indian Certificate for Secondary Examination (ICSE) Grade 10 and 12 results for the 2018 examinations on May 14 on its official websites - cisce.org and icse.org - on Monday afternoon.
Globally, ICSE results recorded a pass percentage of 98.5 per cent, while 96.21 per cent students cleared the ISC exam. Exams for Grade 10 (ISCE) were held between February 26 and March 28, while Grade 12 (ISC) exam took place between February 7 and April 2. Students who appeared in the exams can check their respective results both online and offline.
Several hundred students studying in GEMS Modern Academy, JSS International School, and Ambassador School attempted the examination.
An ecstatic Aakanksha told Khaleej Times, "I expected to do well, but not this level." The 17-year-old hopes to pursue her higher education in computer science at a top school in Singapore. She said: "When I first saw the results, I was in shock. I kept refreshing the page to check if it was true."
She added: "I've always been part of the top five ranks but this is the first time I'm topping globally."
Study routine of Aakanksha
Explaining her study routine, Aakanksha Rai, from GEMS Modern Academy, said she wakes up at 6am and walks for an hour. Aakanksha has been a swimming champion and has won more than 45 medals for the school.
She added: "I study Mathematics in the morning for three hours because I find the subject tough. After which, I take a small break watching television with my mom and move on to other subjects. I also take 15 to 20-minute breaks every hour, and I study eight hours every day.
Her mother Swati Vats said: "I was very sure that she would do well and now we feel like we're on top of the world. As parents, we support and encourage her by ensuring that she sleeps on time and gets her vitamins and food on time."
Nargish Khambatta, principal and CEO of GEMS Modern Academy, and convener of the ISC Examinations, Dubai, said: "It is heartening to note that our top academic achievers are also all-rounders, finding the right balance between their focus on academics and their extra-curricular pursuits. Our students have lived up to the high expectations their teachers had of them."
She added: "This year we have a world topper in ISC despite having the largest cohort ever - Aakanksha Rai secured 99.25 per cent in grade 12 and was placed second globally."
A total of 146 students who appeared for the ISC (Grade 12) exam, with a batch average of 86.8 per cent with 48.6 percent of our students scoring above 90 per cent. Jagrit Relli topped the commerce stream with an aggregate of 96 per cent and Keenen Dominic Fernandes beating his class in the humanities stream with 97.75 per cent.
Moreover, a total of 233 students who appeared for the ICSE (Grade 10) exam and the batch average was 88.8 per cent which 2.4 per cent higher than the 2017 result.
Arisma Arora topped the batch 98.6 per cent with a perfect score of 100 in History, Civics, Geography; Math; Computer Applications.
She said,: "It was amazing. I was crying throughout the process of looking for the results. I want to pursue medicine, and I'm currently looking at colleges in the UK."
Lata Nakra, principal of JSS International said 62 students attempted the ICSE exams and 48 students attempted the ISC exams.
ICSE school topper Gayathri Girish secured 96.6 per cent, while ISC toppers Anukriti Jaiswal (science) scored 96.8 per cent and Noureen Abdul Naser (commerce) scored 96 per cent.
"The students are thrilled with the results, and they've been very as well. We made sure we are very mindful of not exerting too much pressure on the students, and we provided them with a nurturing environment," said Nakra.
Over 6.29million boys and 4.6million girls appeared for ISC Class 12 exams this year. Over 1.6 million students performed for Class 10 board exams this time.
