Bihar: Seven-month-old girl sexually assaulted in Madhepura, accused held

Madhepura police on Tuesday night arrested a 22-year-old youth for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-month-old girl child at ward number ten of Jairampur village under Murliganj police station area in the district.

PATNA: Madhepura police on Tuesday night arrested a 22-year-old youth for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-month-old girl child at ward number ten of Jairampur village under Murliganj police station area in the district.
Mulriganj police station SHO Jai Prakash Chaudhary said that the accused has been identified and is a neighbour of the victim’s family.

“The accused took way the child from her residence for some time. Almost after half an hour, when he dropped the child back, the family members observed that she was bleeding from her private parts,” SHO Chaudhary said.
He said soon the youth was nabbed by villagers and thrashed. “On being informed, police reached the spot and arrested the youth,” the SHO said.
He said on Wednesday, a medical board examined the victim and its report is expected to be handed over to police within a couple of days.
“After preliminary investigation it surfaced that the youth had used his fingers resulting injury to the girl,” he said, adding, further investigation was on in connection with the incident.
He said that earlier, the accused had been to jail after police had arrested him with illegal firearms. “He had come out of jail almost two and half months back,” the SHO added.
