Vizianagaram district topped the APPGECET (postgraduate entrance test) with a pass percentage of 91.11 and Anantapur stood at the bottom with 87.78.
Disclosing the results of the APPGECET, the entrance test for admission into M.Tech and M. Pharmacy courses, that was conducted by the Andhra University for the second time, here on Thursday, the HRD Minister said girls fared better than boys with a pass percentage of 90.16 compared to 88.07 (boys), this year. About 29,339 had applied and 26,779 had appeared for the examination held on May 10 and May 12, across 35 centres in the State. Of them, 23,831 have passed, recording a pass percentage of 88.89. Appreciating the efforts of AU, Mr.Srinivasa Rao said the results were declared within five days of completion of the test.
According to the Minister, in M.Tech there were about 14 government colleges with 2,087 seats and 249 private colleges with 19,934 seats and in pharmacy there were nine government colleges with 417 seats and 111 private colleges with 5,078 seats.
