The services of professors, assistant professors, and associate professors at the Ernakulam Medical College have been regularised. A statement issued here on Saturday said the announcement was made by Minister for Health K.K. Shylaja in Thiruvananthapuram. Steps are being taken in a speedy manner to regularise the services of other employees, the statement added.

According to the Statement, the previous UDF government had taken over the medical college, but it was announced that there would be status quo for a period of five years with regard to employees.

However, since it was causing inconvenience to the staff, the government chose not to wait for the said period to end. Accordingly, the services of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors are being regularised as verifications have been completed, the statement said.
