Jonathan Cain Of Journey Releases 'The Songs You Leave Behind' 6/8 From The Fuel Music
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Journey member Jonathan Cain releases globally his third solo album in as many years, The Songs You Leave Behind, June 8 from Identity Records with The Fuel Music distribution. This new digital album features 19 tracks, including two new songs, five recordings never before released and 12 more autobiographical songs selected by Cain as companion tracks for his first book and audio book, Don't Stop Believin': The Man, the Band, and the Song that Inspired Generations, which became aPublisher's Weekly bestseller following its release May 1 (Zondervan Trade).

The title track and new song about one's legacy, "The Songs You Leave Behind," is being premiere-streamed now by Billboard and features guitarist Miles Schon (the son of Journey guitarist Neal Schon). The second new song on the album, "What Else Have I Missed," is dedicated to Cain's children and highlights the talents of Grammy Award-winning songwriterGary Baker and legendary steel guitar player Dan Dugmore.

The never-before-released songs on the project include "Waitin' On The Wind," "Crossing The Great Divide," "Shine," "Mixed Blessings" and "The Day They Became Angels," the latter track commemorating the tragic school fire in which 92 of Cain's grade school classmates died. Cain first performed the song during the standing-room-only Memorial Mass, 50th Anniversary of the fire at Holy Family Church in Chicago.
"The fire shook my faith as an eight-year-old child," remembers Cain, "but when I look back now, I see a thread of redemption. That tragedy forever changed fire codes around the world, saving countless others."

Several more tracks that appeared on Cain's solo albums Anthology (2001) and Back To The Innocence (1995) were remastered for the new album at Cain's state-of-the-art Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville by producer, mixer David Kalmusky known for his work on multiple Platinum albums.

The songs provide the soundtrack as Cain released the first memoir by a member of the band Journey. In Don't Stop Believin', featured by Rolling Stone, CNBC, FOX News, Chicago Sun-Times, Huffington Post, Parade, Keyboard Magazine and many others, Cain shares his remarkable story as well as behind-the-scenes details of his 36-year career with one of America's favorite rock bands. Publishers Weeklysays, "Rock fans and Christian readers looking for a heartening story of perseverance through tragedy will find much to enjoy in Cain's candid memoir. (See book trailer at https://youtu.be/9aANZjXPPBs.)

Readers follow as Cain auditions for Journey, gets the gig and then goes on to write/co-write some of the biggest rock songs in history, including "Don't Stop Believin'," which is the No. 1 digital catalog rock song in history, as well as mega hits such as "Faithfully," "Open Arms," "Separate Ways," "Who's Crying Now" and many more.

Cain chronicles the massive success along with some devastating failures, as well as discusses Steve Perry's decision to leave the band, his marriage to pastor and presidential advisor Paula White, what his Christian faith means to him and the legacy he wants to leave through his music.

"It's impossible to fathom the incredible journey between that fiddle of my grandfather's and the Hall of Fame. All of those years spent under God's guiding hand. It's a story about patience, persistence and the pursuit of something majestic. And it's one I'm honored to be able to share," writes Cain.

Cain also offers 20 songs in his Don't Stop Believin' audiobook available now atAmazon.com. The audiobook further features more behind-the-scenes stories of Journey and the creation of their top hits that are not included in the print edition.

In addition to his new album and book, Cain released his first Christmas album Unsung Noellast fall and released What God Wants To Hear fall 2016. Both recordings garnered wide acclaim and invitations to perform at such celebrated events as Liberty University Convocation, North America's largest weekly gathering of Christian students, and at the President's Christian Inaugural Gala in Washington, D.C.

As Cain continues to tour the world with Journey, one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, he hits the road for a major, 58-city arena/stadium tour with Def Leppardbeginning May 21. See all the tour dates at https://www.journeymusic.com/pages/tour.
