Indian ambassador to Russia, Pankaj Saran appointed deputy NSA
NEW DELHI: The current ambassador to Russia Pankaj Saran on Tuesday was appointed deputy National Security Advisor by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for a period of two years.

Saran, 1982 IFS, was appointed Indian ambassador to Russia in January last year. Prior to his deputation in Moscow, he was the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh from March 2012 to December 2015.
He was the joint secretary in PMO, New Delhi from 2007 to 2012.

He has served at Indian missions in Moscow, Dhaka, Washington D.C. and Cairo.
