Mysolia Beach Festival from June 9 in Machilipatnam

Krishna district is gearing up for the three-day Mysolia Beach Festival in Machilipatnam, which will be organised from June 9, Collector B Lakshmikantham said.  

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district is gearing up for the three-day Mysolia Beach Festival in Machilipatnam, which will be organised from June 9, Collector B Lakshmikantham said.  

Speaking at a meeting here on Monday, Lakshmikantham said,”The festival, which is being organised for the first time, is named after Machilipatnam beach as it was called Mysolia Beach in the 17th and 18th century. Special attractions at the festival will include helicopter rides, paragliding, parasailing, ATV rides, archery, sand art, cultural activities and horse and camel rides.”

A ticket for a helicopter ride would cost Rs 2,500, while charges for other activities would start from `30, he said. On the occasion, a mango exhibition will be held here where visitors can taste 18 varieties of the fruit; attempt to create a Guinness world record would also be made by making a 100-feet long dosa, he added. A musical night is also being planned for the event where music directors and singers from the Telugu film industry are expected to participate.

Lakshmikantham informed that Sports Minister Kollu Ravindra, MP Konakalla Narayana and ace shuttler PV Sindhu would be present during inaugural day of the beach festival.
