Shimla, June 5
Many houses were damaged in Tuesday morning’s cloudburst at Darshal and Matalani villages in Rampur.
The incident occurred around 8.30 am. No loss of life was reported but plantations over several bighas of land were destroyed. Debris and mud entered the houses and cow sheds as gushing water swept the villages.
Deafening sounds of lightning and thunder followed by very heavy rains occurred in the villages and a water tank was also damaged.
The SDM and Tehsildar have rushed to the spot and rescue work is underway, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Amit Kashyap said.
