Karnal, June 3
The district authorities of Karnal and Shamli in UP have decided to hold a joint demarcation exercise to resolve the border dispute between farmers in the two districts.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aditya Dahiya said the joint demarcation exercise would be undertaken this week to resolve the issue. Amid confusion over demarcation, mining was going on unchecked in Lalupura village of Gharaunda block in the district.
The Gharaunda police had registered a case against two persons under the mining Act, but no one was arrested.
“To resolve the issue, both the administrations of Karnal and Shamli have now decided to conduct electronic demarcation in the area,” said the DC. — TNS
