Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, exited a meeting at the U.S. Capitol through a back door on Wednesday to avoid a CNN reporter's question on Trump's "no tolerance" policy of separating families at the border.

After it was reported that the Department of Homeland Security is drafting an Executive Order to end Trump's policy, CNN congressional correspondent Daniella Diaz tried to get a comment from Conway following an event on the opioid crisis.

"Just tried to grab @KellyannePolls while she was at a Hill opioids event and was courteous with her staff about wanting to talk to her," Diaz wrote. "[S]he left through a back door to avoid me."

RT's Nicholas Ballasy also tried to speak to Conway about the possibility of Trump signing an executive order. He, too, was rebuffed by the president's counselor.

On Sunday, Conway told NBC News that "nobody likes" the family separation policy. But she falsely blamed Democrats -- even though Trump could end the practice with an executive order or telephone call to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
