State Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a press release said here on Tuesday that BJP leaders were misleading people on the establishment of Dr Radhakrishanan Medical College and Hospital only to take credit in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Sukhu claimed that process to establish medical college was started by the UPA government in 2014. A budgetary provision of Rs 189 crore was also made by the government. He alleged that Vijay Agnihotri, former BJP MLA, Nadaun, and Anurag Thakur had been instrumental in delaying the project by over three years.

Sukhu alleged that the Congress government in the state had identified 26 acre for the medical college but now the BJP government is trying to reduce it to 19 acre. He said that more land could be acquired by giving respectable compensation to the land owners and that would help in establishing more facilities in the upcoming medical college and hospital at Thai village. The BJP leaders here should see the official documents before misleading people of the region, Sukhu added.
