Mango fest: Malda variety finds many takers

PATNA: Heads of several universities, principals, retired principals and students participated in a mango festival organised on the premises of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya here on Saturday. The participants were told about different mango varieties. They also relished the juicy fruit. Malda mango was one of the most sought after varieties among the participants.
B N Pandey, principal of Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, said the aim of the festival was to boost the horticulture economy.
“Mango is useful both as fruit and tree. Aam, aam hokar bhi khas hai,” he said.
Mohit Prakash, counsellor of the college, thanked the students and teachers for making the festival a success.
Tanu Akash, a student of the college, said the festival was a fun-filled event for them. “We interacted with principals of several other PU colleges,” he added.
