Police said that three persons owing allegiance to the Campus Front, the students wing of National Development Front, were detained in connection with the incident. The hunt for the remaining suspects was on, they said.

Principal K. N. Krishna Kumar said regular classes have been suspended for two days. The governing council of the college would meet soon to discuss the situation.
