Year after wedding, woman plots hubby’s murder with help of lover

Police take accused into custody, exhume victim’s body from local school premises

KAKINADA: A woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her lover at Chandramampalli village in Peddapuram mandal. The body of the deceased was buried on the premises of a school by the accused.

Kirlampudi police said the victim, Matta Sattibabu (26), hailing from Mukkollu in Kirlampudi mandal, married Paramjyothi of Tatiparti village in Peddapuram mandal a year ago. Police said Paramjyothi was in love with another person, Chekkera Raju, of Chandramampalli.

According to police, Jyothi used to stay at her parent’s house most of the time to continue her relationship with her lover.

Finding her husband a hindrance to her relationship, she and Raju decided to eliminate Sattibabu. As part of the conspiracy, Raju struck up a friendship with the victim for the past few days by meeting the latter at a local liquor shop.

“On the day of murder, June 19, Raju met Sattibabu at the liquor shop and both consumed alcohol. After sometime, Raju asked Sattibabu, who reportedly consumed excess alcohol, to stay at his house. Sattibabu accepted the offer and went to Raju’s house at Chandramampalli. Raju called his friend and both of them smothered Sattibabu to death. The duo later shifted the body to the local school premises and buried it there,’’ Kirlampudi police inspector P Kasiviswanath said.

On June 25, Sattibabu’s younger brother Yesubabu lodged a complaint with Kirlampudi police, who initially registered a missing case and during investigation found that the victim’s wife and her lover were behind Sattibabu’s killing.

Kirlampudi police, who took Paramjyothi and Raju into custody, exhumed the body from the school premises and an autopsy was done on the body.
