The explosion at the crackers unit on Wednesday rendered many families without bread earners. It also left several children orphaned. All those killed in the explosion were daily wage earners. Every family had a tale of sorrow to narrate.

WARANGAL: The explosion at the crackers unit on Wednesday rendered many families without bread earners. It also left several children orphaned. All those killed in the explosion were daily wage earners. Every family had a tale of sorrow to narrate.
The explosion occurred within a few minutes of workers entering the factory. It happened all of a sudden— a d eafening sound and huge flames engulfing the skies.
The workers lay dead with their bodies dismembered.

Heart-touching scenes were seen at the blast site and at the mortuary of the MGM Hospital where the charred remains of the victims were shifted for post-mortem examination and DNA analysis for identification.
Bhaskula Renuka had stopped her daily work last month. On Wednesday, her husband Komraiah asked her to go to work so that her earnings could supplement the family income. Komraiah rushed to the factory after learning about the incident. He was inconsolable. Their daughter Vijaya completed nursing course recently. “Wish my mother had rejected my father’s suggestion that she go to work. She would have been alive now,” she said at MGM hospital.

Rangu Savithri, Rangu Vinod’s mother, and Gajula Lalitha, Gajula Harikrishna’s mother, mourned their sons at the mortuary. Vinod, 25, who died, was the only earning member of his family. Lalitha lost her husband Shankaraiah recently and her son Harikrishna joined the factory after his death.
Raghupathi, the unit manager, was also killed. His wife Uma fainted on hearing the news. She has two children. V Mallikarjun’s wife Kavitha urged deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari to take care of her five-year-old daughter. Ashok’s wife Usha with her two kids lost consciousness on hearing about his death.
