Mutilated bodies of two Warangal blast victims sent for DNA analysis

A day after eight people died in a blast at a cracker manufacturing unit in Warangal, the body parts of two persons, who are yet to be identified, were sent for DNA analysis.

WARANGAL: A day after eight people died in a blast at a cracker manufacturing unit in Warangal, the body parts of two persons, who are yet to be identified, were sent for DNA analysis.
After the blast at the unit on Wednesday, police noticed that two people in the factory could not be traced. It is now suspected that the mutilated body parts belonged to the missing persons V Mallikarjun and Rakesh.

City police commissioner Dr V Ravinder said on Thursday the body parts were collected and sent for forensic examination to establish the identity of the deceased. Samples were collected from their kin.
Police also seized CCTV hard disk from the site to help identify the cause of the blast. The hard disk has been sent to Hyderabad for expert investigation.
The owner of the crackers unit G Rajkumar has been sent to judicial remand. He is lodged at Warangal central prison. Ravinder said chargesheet will be filed against the accused.
Warangal rural RDO Mahender Ji and other revenue officials distributed essential items to kin of victims.
They inspected houses damaged by the blast. District legal services authority secretary Christiana visited the spot.
