KURNOOL: TDP's national general secretary and state minister Nara Lokesh announced on Monday the candidature of MP Butta Renuka for the Kurnool Lok Sabha seat for the next election. He also announced the candidature of MLA S V Mohan Reddy for the assembly seat.
Addressing a meeting as part of his tour in the district, Lokesh said that Renuka and Reddy will contest the next election and asked the party workers to work for their victory.
He also appealed to the people to elect both the leaders.
Butta Renuka, won the Kurnool Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 general elections and had joined the ruling Telugu Desam Party recently.
Meanwhile, minister Lokesh took a dig at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and dared him to come out with facts or remain silent if he can’t prove the corruption charges against him.
“I have been asking you to produce evidence on my corruption. You have not done so yet. If you have evidence to prove any corruption charge against me, please produce it to the people,” he said.
He sought to advise the Jana Sena chief to stop targeting the TDP and its leaders. He asked Pawan Kalyan to question the BJP and the central government for doing injustice to the state. He alleged that both Pawan Kalyan and Jaganmohan Reddy were dancing to the tunes of the BJP leadership.
“When people in the state are questioning the BJP for its betrayal, these two leaders are blaming the TDP, which is fighting for the state,” he said and advised the Jana Sena and YSR Congress leaders to keep politics aside and work with the TDP for the development of the state.
