Trump’s Hollywood critics line up against Kavanaugh

Some big Hollywood names are wading into the Supreme Court nomination battle, slamming Brett Kavanaugh as a “trifecta of terrible” who “must be stopped.”

President Trump announced Monday that he was tapping Kavanaugh, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.

{mosads}“There is no one in America more qualified for this position and no one more deserving,” Trump said of his pick.

Many of Trump’s most outspoken critics in the entertainment industry were quick to rail against the Supreme Court nominee.

“Fahrenheit 9/11” director Michael Moore, who last year staged an anti-Trump Broadway show, wrote on Twitter:

What else do you need to know about Brett Kavanaugh other than he worked with Ken Starr to impeach Clinton, worked to help W win Bush v Gore Supreme Court case, and worked in both Bush White Houses. Recommended to Bush to put Alito and Roberts on the Court. He must be stopped.

Former “Charmed” star Alyssa Milano urged her nearly 3.5 million Twitter followers to pick up their phones and call lawmakers who will vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Brett Kavanaugh, in just on just one case, attacked women’s rights, healthcare, and immigration.

He is the trifecta of terrible, and he must never sit on the Supreme Court.

Alec Baldwin — who’s sparred with Trump on social media and picked up an Emmy for his portrayal of the commander in chief on “Saturday Night Live” — said “there are a lot of better candidates” than Kavanaugh, who worked for Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel who investigated President Clinton in the 1990s.

Kavanaugh worked overtime to remove Clinton from office.
Now he says presidents are above the law while in office. Civil and criminal cases.

“Avengers” director Joss Whedon wrote that lawmakers shouldn’t even “consider” Kavanaugh’s nomination:

And actor John Leguizamo said any Senate vote on Kavanaugh shouldn’t come immediately:

White House officials have said they expect Kavanaugh to be confirmed by Oct. 1, when the Supreme Court’s new session begins.
