Meghalaya man found dead in water tank at Kuppam in Chittoor

HYDERABAD: A man from Meghalaya was found dead in the overhead water tank of a house at Shastri Street in Kuppam area of Chittoor district on Thursday. Cops identified the deceased as Sanju Shetty (30). The house owner S Basha discovered the body in the water tank after he went to check as to why the water was blocked even after the tank was full.
Cops rushed to the house of S Basha after they received information about the body in the water tank.
According to Kuppam inspector K Raghavan, the house owner went up to check the tanker as the water was not coming even though the tank was overflowing.
No one in the locality identified him and told that he was a stranger. Upon vetting his pockets, the police found a train ticket from Jolarpet to Bengaluru. The cops did not find any injuries on the body either. Raghavan said that they had informed his kin back in Meghalaya and only after their arrival, cops would find a way to crack the mystery behind his death. It was yet to be ascertained why he was here, how and why he got on top of the house, the officer added.
