Trenton

Heroin and Crack Pipe: Jessica Perry, 29, and Megan Acosta, 24, were arrested after police found 30 decks of heroin, a crack pipe and a hypodermic needle during a traffic stop on Hobart Avenue.

Heroin and Pot: Jamal Wilson, 42, was arrested after police allegedly saw him searching through a bag full of drugs. Officials say detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit were conducting an operation in the 1200 block of East State Street targeting open-air drug dealing when they saw Wilson exit a vehicle, walk toward the rear of a home and grab a large white sack that was hidden in high, uncut grass. After he searched through the bag, Wilson jumped into a vehicle and left, but police stopped him a short distance away. Police say the white bag contained 76 decks of heroin and 40 baggies of pot.

Heroin, Crack and Pills: Reginald Walker, 53, and Bryant Key, 52, were arrested after police allegedly found them in possession of drugs while tossing dice on Nordacs Place. Officials say detectives from the Street Crimes Unit seized a total of 20 decks of heroin, a small amount of crack cocaine, 16 baggies of marijuana, 19 oxycodone pills and $178 in cash, as suspected proceeds from drug sales.

Evesham

Abandoned OD Victim: Peter Baron Jr., 35, of Cherry Hill, was indicted Thursday by a grand jury that charged him with endangering another person for allegedly abandoning a heroin overdose victim last year. Prosecutors say the jury found that Baron “did recklessly engage in conduct which created a substantial risk of death to another person.” The investigation revealed that Baron carried the victim from a car and placed him inside the foyer of a home on Bartram Road in Evesham just after 11 a.m. on October 17, 2017. Baron then fled without calling for medical help. A witness called Evesham Police and responding officers revived the victim with multiple doses of Narcan. The State of New Jersey enacted a law in 2013 known as the Overdose Prevention Act, which encourages people to report drug overdoses without fear of being arrested. Under the measure, known informally as the Good Samaritan law, those who call 911 to report overdoses will be immune from arrest and prosecution for drug possession or usage. The law also applies to people who call for help themselves while overdosing.
