Robinhood, a commission-free stock and cryptocurrency trading app, has added support for two more cryptocurrencies, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash, on its crypto trading platform. The app had initially supported only Bitcoin and Ethereum.
However, the app customers can monitor market data, read cryptocurrency news, and create price alerts for 16 cryptocurrencies, including Ripple, Ethereum Classic, Zcash, Monero, Dash, Stellar, Qtum, Bitcoin Gold, OmiseGo, NEO, Lisk, and Dogecoin.
The Menlo Park, California-based financial services company launched its no-fee stock trading app about three years ago. The company began options trading last year and limited cryptocurrency trading on February 22 this year.
Robinhood crypto trading is currently available in 17 states in the U.S. and also plans to further expand its coin offerings and add support for coin transfers.
Recently, Robinhood said it is set to develop a cryptocurrency wallet for the users of its crypto-trading platform. In a job advertisement for a Crypto Engineer, the company said the Crypto Engineer will be responsible, among other things, for adding new currencies or providing wallet functionality.
Robinhood is reportedly looking to be a full-service consumer finance company. Bloomberg reported recently that Robinhood was in talks to obtain a US banking license.
