A couple on the lam for multiple felony charges, including grand theft, was all smiles when Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputies took a picture Thursday night.

That was after officials ran them down in a car chase with a helicopter circling overhead, according to a report on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Matthew White, 32, and Amber Taynor, 24, have been on the Sheriff's Office radar since May in connection with the theft of two pressure washers from a Walmart, along with several open felony warrants for White and charges of grand theft and violation of probation for Taynor, officials said.

A deputy spotted them Thursday night in a stolen vehicle near Interstate 95 and State Road 40.

The couple fled, but the Sheriff's Office helicopter Air One kept them in sight as they sped through Daytona Beach and Holly Hill, once narrowly missing a bicyclist, until damage from hitting stop sticks deployed in their path forced them to stop.

White and Taynor bailed out near a home on Marion Street and ran but were quickly taken into custody and then, handcuffed and surrounded by deputies, they grinned for a photo.

"We're getting a photo with you guys, just so you know," a deputy told them. "So look good."

"Should we smile?" Taynor can be heard asking.

They did.

In addition to several warrants, White was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, tampering with physical evidence, possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis more than 20 grams, driving while license suspended, theft and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

In addition to her warrants, Taynor was charged with possession of heroin and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
