A 61-year-old Ketchum man is accused of threatening a motorcyclist with a hatchet over alleged speeding and excessive noise in Blaine County.

Deputies say Bruce William Smith threatened 24-year-old Tyler Moore of Boise with the hatchet as he was driving his motorcycle along Warm Springs Road July 13. The following morning, deputies say Moore confronted Smith over the alleged hatchet incident.

The sheriff's office says Smith had been upset over speeding and noise over the past few weeks.

Moore has been charged with misdemeanor assault, while Smith has been booked with felony aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon.
