It started with some sharp words.

The fireworks started when Graham was asked if she's ever taken, or would take, campaign money from the sugar industry.

"Uh, thank you. No and no," Graham said.

Winter Park businessman King disputed that.

"Because it wasn't true. You have taken money from the sugar industry," King said.

"I gave the $17,000 that I had received previously to the Indian River Lagoon Riverkeeper," Graham said.

Graham did receive money while serving in Congress. She donated the money in April.

Later, all candidates were asked how or if they would work with President Donald Trump.

"Am I going to allow Donald Trump to undermine our whole national identity with what he did with Putin this week? I mean, he's nothing but a traitor," Greene said.

"If the president wanted to send us infrastructure money just as Obama tried to send us money to build high speed rail across the I-4 corridor, we take it," Gillum said.

"This race for governor is not only the most important race in our country, it's the most important race in the world. Because so goes this governor's race, so goes the presidency in 2020, folks," Levine said.

"And I'm not going to put up with anything that Donald Trump does that in any way limits every single Floridian's ability to have the best life here in the state of Florida," Graham said.

"What we don't like in Donald Trump and what we can't tolerate in our party or theirs is the bully mentality," King said.

When asked how they would pay for more school resource officers after the high school shooting in Parkland, they talked about gun control and silencing the NRA.

"And we're going to adopt the kind of common sense laws that put people before guns," Gillum said.

"Tax sales revenues from guns, and from ammunition, and add a new safety fee," King said.

"Banning the sale of military-style assault weapons. It's one of the first things I'm going to do," Graham said.

"We're going to make sure that we take the money from charter schools and put it into our public schools," Levine said.

"When I'm governor, that will be a priority. We'll have plenty of money for safety and educating our kids," Greene said.

The latest voter survey from St. Pete Polling shows businessman Jeff Greene in a tie with Gwen Graham, followed by former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and local businessman Chris King.
