The Duluth Police Department released the name of a motorcyclist who was killed after striking a deer Wednesday morning in Duluth.

According to authorities, John Paul Sullivan, 30, struck the deer while traveling eastbound at 7:59 a.m. Wednesday on Grand Avenue near Bessemer Street. Sullivan, who was wearing a helmet, died in the crash.
