Emmerdale character Tracy Metcalfe went through a lot in Thursday's episode (July 19), as she was revealed to be pregnant with David Metcalfe's baby.

But as Tracy (Amy Walsh) told her father Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) about the pregnancy, one line in particular stood out for some viewers.

"You've not told anyone?" Frank asked.

"I've only just found out myself. I'm only six weeks," Tracy responded.

Some claimed that six weeks was incorrect and a mistake by the ITV soap, as Tracy and David had sex less than a month ago – but there was actually no blunder.

"Sooo Tracy slept with David three weeks ago but she's six weeks long?" wrote one viewer at home. "Emmerdale out there not making sense with pregnancies again. You'd think with how many pregnancies they have in the show they're be experts."

But pregnancies are counted from the last period, not when the person in question had sex.

As one Twitter user exampled: "You all do know that pregnancy development is counted from the first day of your last normal menstrual cycle, so they would be correct that Tracy was in or around six weeks."

Meanwhile, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) broke patient-doctor confidentiality by revealing to David that Tracy was pregnant.

David confronted Tracy, and she told David that she's had the termination.

Emmerdale airs on ITV.
