RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Opposition Leader and YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the TDP leaders and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had converted the Polavaram project into a ‘Kalpavruksham’ for taking bribe. He was speaking at a public meeting in Peddapuram mandal of East Godavari district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

“Naidu is monitoring the national project every Monday only to demand his commission,” Jagan alleged. “Naidu is good at taking credit for others’ work. The works of Polavaram left and right canals were completed during the tenure of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. But, Naidu claims that he completed 56% of the project work,” he said.

The YSRC chief accused the State government of giving the Polavaram project contracts to a minister’s relative. Launching a scathing attack on Naidu for lack of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy and other crops, he said the TDP government had failed to fulfil its 2014 election promises. In the four years of Naidu’s rule, not even a single crop was given MSP, he said.
