MP: Golden 'kalash' atop ancient Ram Janki temple in Shivpuri stolen

A golden finial or 'kalash' atop the ancient Ram Janki temple in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh has been stolen by thieves. The value of the 'kalash' is said to be in crores. Reports say the precious item was in the crosshairs of robbers since quite some time, as the first attempt to steal this finial was made in 2013. The temple is located in a fort that was the seat of the Judev dynasty of Bundela Rajput rulers, who had kept the temple secure for the last 2-3 centuries. Scions of the erstwhile rulers say the kalash is made of gold and other precious metals.
