VIJAYAWADA: Tension prevailed in Nuzvid town on Friday when rumours of human sacrifice spread. Police said that one Ram Prasad (32) approached them and told that seven people tried to kill him for attaining supernatural powers.
Following his complaint, police investigated but found no truth in the claim. Nuzvid CI said the locals complained against one Chinnam Praveen (32) for conducting a tantric puja at an open field at Yanamadala, claiming that he, along with six others planned to conduct a human sacrifice prior to the eclipse. However, when police examined the scene, they only found an idol smeared with turmeric and kumkum.
