SASARAM: In a road rage incident, a trader was beaten to death as his motorcycle splattered two persons on another bike with mud near Muradabad village on Sasaram-Buxar road under the Muffasil police station area in Rohtas district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jay Govind Mahato (60), a resident of Takiya village under the Town Model police station area. His son Vinod Kumar Mahato (25), who was also thrashed by the two motorcycle-borne persons in their late 30s, lodged an FIR against unknown persons.
Muffasil police station SHO Jag Niwas Singh said the Mahatos were on the way to Muradabad bank, about 1.5km from their village, when their motorcycle splattered the persons passing by on another bike with mud near a bridge on the Sone canal.
Quoting Vinod, the SHO said the other motorcyclists chased and stopped the father-son duo. Following an altercation over splattering them with mud, the other motorcyclists beat them mercilessly. “When Jay fell unconscious and his son was writhing in pain, the duo escaped on the bike. Jay was taken to a private clinic near his house, but the doctor referred him to the sadar hospital. He died on the way to the hospital,” he said.
