SBSP offers Amar Singh Lok Sabha ticket from Azamgarh
VARANASI: BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) offered a party ticket on Tuesday to erstwhile Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Azamgarh parliamentary constituency. The seat is currently held by SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
"If Amar Singh wishes to contest the 2019 polls from Azamgarh, and if the seat comes to our quota, we would gladly offer it to him," SBSP chief and UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar told TOI on Tuesday.

"The issue is yet to be finalised as it depends upon the outcome of seat-sharing and the wish of Amar Singh," he said adding that SBSP's doors were open to him. Rajbhar said that the sharing of seats among NDA partners is yet to be decided. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned Amar Singh's name in his speech during a function at Lucknow on Sunday. Singh, too, reportedly expressed unconditional support to PM. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Mulayam had won the seat by defeating BJP's Ramakant Yadav. P5
