LUCKNOW: A day after his father reported him missing, police traced the son of Aliganj-based wholesale trader to a hotel in Palia in Lakimpur Kheri on Thursday.
Police said that the trader's son, Neeraj Gupta, had told them that he had gone away as his family did not appreciate his hard work.
Circle Officer Deepak Singh said a surveillance cell had traced the 30-year-old's location to the hotel after his father Raj Chandra Gupta had lodged a case on Wednesday.

"His location was traced to Lakhimpur Kheri and so the local police were alerted. Later a team led by Circle officer (Palia) traced him to the hotel and brought him back," he said.
Police said Neeraj was upset with his family's behaviour especially his uncle.
Neeraj said told media persons that he worked very hard but his family had never appreciated his contribution and he was always chided. Upset, he planned to flee the city on his own.
A resident of Yoginagar locality in Aliganj, Neeraj went missing after he left for his father's shop in Naveen Galla Mandi around 6 am on Wednesday.
"Neeraj had taken Rs 1 lakh from the cash box when he left the shop. He went to Lakhimpur Kheri by bus and then stayed at the hotel. The police also recovered the cash," the CO Aliganj said.
