Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her family are moving across the pond and relocating to Florida.

The Swedish royal court announced this month that Madeleine, 36, and her husband Chris O’Neill, 44, are heading to the Sunshine State this fall with their three children: Princess Leonore, four, Prince Nicolas, three, and Princess Adrienne, four months.

'The time and opportunity for the United States is good for the family when the children are still in pre-school age,' the press release explained.

Madeleine, who is the seventh in line to the Swedish throne, will continue her work with the World Childhood Foundation.

'Princess Madeleine has a great commitment to children’s rights and will continue working with the World Childhood Foundation and, through the move, be able to focus more on the activities in the United States,' the Swedish Royal Court added.

Along with the announcement about their planned move, the Royal Court also released a new family portrait showing the happy couple posing with their three children.

The royal's financier husband was born in London and has dual U.K. and U.S. citizenship. He has previously been working in the United States but will continue his business in Europe as well.

In the image, which was taken outdoors in the summer sunshine, shows Madeleine and Chris smiling at the camera, with the princess wearing a simple white dress and a pair of nude sandals.

The daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf is seen holding her son Nicolas's hand, while Chris is pictured cradling their youngest child, daughter Adrienne, in his arms.

Somewhere special: It is not currently known where the family is planning to live - or if they will even stick to Palm Beach, which is where their old holiday home was located

Princess Leonore, the eldest of the three siblings, holds a bouquet of wild flowers, while happily grinning towards the photographer. The little girl is dressed smartly in a pretty pink dress, with matching sandals and a bow in her hair, while her younger brother matches his mother in a white shirt and beige shorts.

This isn't the first time that Princess Madeleine, who is seventh in line to the Swedish throne, has made a home in the United States; the royal was actually living in New York City when she first met Chris, having famously fled to America in 2010 to escape a broken heart after her split from Swedish attorney Jonas Bergstrom.

The couple then continued to live in the Big Apple even after they married in Stockholm in the Royal Palace chapel in June 2013, and the couple's first child, Princess Leonore, was actually born in New York in 2014.

In recent years, however, the family has called London home, where they are thought to still own a residence, but Madeleine and Chris chosen to move back to Sweden for the birth of their third child, Princess Adrienne, who was born on March 9 of this year.

Adrienne was christened in Stockholm in a beautiful ceremony on June 8, the day of her parents' fifth wedding anniversary.

Princess Madeleine and her husband also previously owned property in Palm Beach; however, they sold the five-bedroom holiday to a limited liability company just last week for an impressive $3.65 million.

The sprawling summer house is thought to have been used on occasion as a holiday home by Princess Madeleine's mother-in-law when she made trips to Florida, while the royal couple are thought to have also stayed there whenever they made trips to the Sunshine State.

Anglo-American Chris managed the house through his company, Bahama Beach Holdings LLC, and according to the Palm Beach Daily News, the financier first purchased the property - which came complete with a palm tree-lined swimming pool - for close to $2 million back in June 2008, six years before he tied the knot with Princess Madeleine.

The home, which was built in 1954, boasted 4,360 square feet of living space, has a modern, state-of-the-art kitchen, private garden, marble bathrooms, and is located on a third-acre piece of property.

It is currently not known whether the family has purchased - or is planning to purchase - another home in the area, or whether they will choose to look further afield before settling on their future hometown.

Madeleine is the youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife Queen Silvia, 74, his German-Brazilian consort; she has two older siblings - Crown Princess Victoria, and Prince Carl-Philip.

The royal family, whose role is ceremonial, remains hugely popular in Sweden and the monarchy enjoys widespread support despite the egalitarianism that otherwise characterizes society in the Nordic country.
