SCSO: Man wanted for fatal shooting in Sumter captured in Florida

SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Authorities have captured a man wanted for a fatal shooting that happened in Sumter this past weekend.
According to Sumter County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Bell, Demetrius Brown was caught in Jacksonville, Florida late Wednesday night. Details on the capture have not been released at this time.
Brown was wanted for the shooting death of Sharmaine Pack. He previously was spotted in Georgia by law enforcement officials but managed to get away in a pursuit.
Details on Brown's capture are expected to be released Thursday morning. He will appear in Florida court at 1 p.m.
Officials will make their way down to Jacksonville in hopes of extraditing Brown.
