The ‘Marion County Historical Society’ and County Commissioners are coming together to continue the efforts in keeping a local movie star’s legacy alive.
Palatine Park will be turned into a film festival filled with residents, as the annual ‘Fuzzy Knight Festival’ will begin.
This year’s festival starts the sixth straight year to honor Fairmont-native and former movie star, John Forrest “Fuzzy” Knight, and the fourth in succession to be held at Palatine Park.
Festivities are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. with music and activities, and will conclude by showing the movie ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’.
The movie features an all-star cast which includes John Wayne, Betty Field, Harry Carey, Beulah Bondi, Marjorie Main and Ward Bond.
