A second bout of heavy rain in Toronto caused chaos for commuters Friday evening after flooding shut down Line 3 subway service, and washed out pedestrian walkways at Union Station.
TTC spokesperson Hayley Waldman said flooding affected Midland Station, causing the closure of the entire Line 3 while cleanup was underway. No other TTC service lines (trains, streetcars and buses) were affected by the storm.
Metrolinx spokesperson Scott Money said that the flooding has now receded at Union Station, and the pedestrian walkways have reopened, and everything is running as normal.
