CNN suffered another tough ratings week, failing to crack the top five in both primetime and total day ratings.

According to Nielsen Media Research for the week of August 13 to 19, CNN ranked #8 in primetime and #6 in total day.

For primetime, CNN earned 1.01 million average viewers and finished behind Fox News, MSNBC, Home and Garden Television, USA Network, ESPN, History, and the Discovery Channel. (RELATED: CNN Falls To History Channel In Primetime Ratings)

In total day, CNN earned 686,000 viewers and fell to MSNBC, Nickelodeon, Home and Garden Television, and Investigation Discovery.

Meanwhile, Fox News Channel has continued to dominate the competition. FNC marked its 32nd consecutive week as the most watched cable network in total day and its 12th consecutive week on top of primetime. (RELATED: Fox News’ Hannity Chomps Shark Week In Ratings)
