New Delhi: A raid at a farmhouse in Mehrauli led cops to an illegal casino on Thursday. Twelve people were arrested during the raid and a register, 2,300 playing chips and Rs 10,000 were seized.
Investigating officers said the raid was carried out at farm number 11, Green Meadows in Satbari following a tip-off about some illegal activities on the premises. A team led by SHO Mehrauli Atul Verma raided the premises and caught the people inside the gambling den, equipped with machines and tables for different games.

DCP (south) Romil Baaniya said the accused had been identified as Dinesh Kumar, Naresh Daupa, Dheer Singh, Prem Singh, Vikas Kumar, Sanjeev Gupta, Amit Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Chand Ram, Devinder, Gajender and Sunita Lama.
Sources said Lama was specially brought from Panaji in Goa for conducting the games as she was working with a casino there. Each of the seized chips was marked for Rs 500.
A preliminary probe has revealed that the farmhouse owner had leased the property to Dinesh, who set up the casino. The organisers were circulating the schedule about games through WhatsApp.
The police are now scanning through the register to trace more people involved in the racket. They are also scanning the mobile phones of the accused.
